About GigPics
GigPics grew from a simple idea I had in 2001. That idea was to put together a website where people
could show off photographs they have taken of bands and music events.
Basically that is what GigPics is today. An online gallery of photographs taken by the general public
at concerts, festivals, and other music events.
Anyone can contribute to GigPics, and it's free. What's more is when you sign up, we take your details
and should anyone want to contact you - maybe to licence a photo you've taken, or commission you
to take some more - we will let you know 'coz we're good like that!
GigPics.co.uk is based in the UK and is for photographs of UK bands, or bands performing in the UK.
That's really the only restiriction. Even the quality of the photograph isn't that important -
you don't have to be the new David Bailey with an expensive SLR, so long as the picture captures some
of the atmosphere of the gig. Even cheap disposables can catch a gig's atmosphere!
GigPics launched at the end of 2002,
but has had some major redesign in Spring 2003.
